ATTENTION AMERICA: AFRICA IS NO LONGER YOUR PERSONAL ATM | LANCESCURV

Recently, Africa’s most populous country joined BRICS, making it the fourth African nation to be part of the alliance. This is no minor event. It signals Africa’s increasing significance in the global economic order and a direct challenge to Western hegemony. With BRICS prioritizing Africa in its strategy, China alone has pledged an $800 million investment—nearly six times what the West begrudgingly threw at the continent post-WWII. And let’s be real: that Western “investment” was never about development—it was about control.

The West’s Devastating Economic Playbook

African nations were once on a steady path of economic growth from the 1960s through the 1970s. But the 1980s came like a hammer, bringing with it economic collapse, skyrocketing interest rates, plummeting export prices, and civil unrest. What did the West do? It extended a poisoned chalice in the form of Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) designed by the World Bank and IMF.

These so-called “recovery plans” demanded:

Trade liberalization (translation: let Western corporations loot African markets with no restrictions)

Currency devaluation (translation: make African money worthless against the almighty dollar)

Removal of government subsidies (translation: let the poor starve while rich elites flourish)

Privatization (translation: sell off national assets to the highest Western bidder)

SAPs were never about “poverty reduction.” They were about ensuring that Africa remained a perpetual debtor, endlessly shipping cheap raw materials to the West while its own people suffered. Food prices soared, school fees skyrocketed, wages collapsed, and joblessness became a norm. The results? A deliberately weakened Africa, still being force-fed the narrative that it must rely on Western “charity.”

Western Hypocrisy and the $10 Billion Lie

Here’s the kicker: despite the tired narrative that Africa is a beggar continent, African nations send over $10 billion annually to the wealthier nations in debt payments alone. Since SAPs were implemented, Africa has been a net creditor to the West—meaning the West has been the one benefiting from Africa’s wealth, not the other way around.

But of course, Western leaders and their brainwashed populations love the delusion that Africa is a charity case. Remember when Donald Trump said he would cut off all financial aid to “Third World” countries? Western citizens clapped, thinking they were finally getting rid of those “lazy African beggars.” The irony? Africa’s wealth is propping up Western economies, not the other way around.

Africa’s Resources: The Key to Global Dominance

The world is transitioning to green energy, and Africa is sitting on the largest reserves of critical minerals needed for this shift.

30% of the world’s critical mineral reserves

125 billion barrels of crude oil

620 trillion cubic feet of natural gas

80% of the world’s platinum (South Africa)

70% of the world’s phosphate reserves (Morocco)

The largest cobalt reserves (DRC)

Top lithium exporter (Zimbabwe)

Western nations want to talk about climate change while hoarding Africa’s resources for their own benefit. But BRICS offers an alternative—one that finally allows Africa to dictate the terms of its own economic future.

China, Russia, and Brazil: The New Players in Africa’s Rise

Unlike the IMF and World Bank, which have shackled Africa with debt and dependency, BRICS nations are engaging in partnerships that actually benefit Africa.

China: Invested $4.5 billion in African lithium mines and holds stakes in 15 of DRC’s 17 cobalt mines.

Russia: Spearheading de-dollarization efforts, helping African nations trade in local currencies instead of being enslaved to the US dollar.

Brazil: Its state-owned oil giant Petrobras is expanding operations in Africa, proving that South-South cooperation is more than possible—it’s the future.

The Death of the Almighty Dollar? Africa’s Role in De-Dollarization

For decades, the US dollar has been a weapon of mass economic destruction, forcing countries to comply with American interests or face sanctions. Africa has been one of the biggest victims. But BRICS is actively dismantling this system.

Russia and China have already made moves:

$260 billion in trade conducted without a single US dollar

Russia’s new international payment system adopted by 20 countries

China and Russia settling their trade in yuan and rubles

African nations are following suit. Kenya has already signed an agreement to buy oil using its local currency. The East African Community is developing its own regional currency, the East African Shilling, further distancing itself from Western financial control.

And America is panicking. Trump has openly stated he “won’t allow” countries to leave the dollar because it would be like “losing the Revolutionary War.” Translation: Without the dollar’s dominance, America’s global stranglehold is finished.

Time for African Americans to Wake Up

For African Americans still clinging to the belief that the West is their savior, it’s time to open your eyes. The very system that has exploited Africa for centuries is the same system keeping Black Americans at the bottom of the economic ladder. The same IMF policies that kept African nations impoverished are mirrored in the predatory banking, credit, and housing systems that have financially crippled Black communities in the US.

Africa is finally breaking free. The question is: Will Black Americans continue to be pawns in a Western system that despises them, or will they recognize the power shift and align with a rising Africa?

The future belongs to those who control resources, industry, and finance. And for the first time in modern history, Africa is claiming its place at the head of the table.

Welcome to the new world order. And this time, Africa is not the one being ordered around.
