Memphis Police Department is investigating a stabbing death in the Westwood neighborhood.
Police said the man was stabbed at a home on Maumee Street, which is near the intersection of West Raines Road and Double Tree Road, around 3:10 p.m.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but later died.
Family confirmed the victim as Torey Taylor.
“My first-born…he won’t suffer no more,” Taylor’s father Andrew Gillard said.
Family said it was Taylor’s fiancee, Destiny White, who stabbed him. The incident happened while Taylor’s 14-year-old daughter watched.
“He was a good guy, and I have nothing bad to say about him,” Candace Davis said.
Friends said Taylor was a security guard at local businesses and a deacon at church.
