In a strange twist of NYPD fate and the impeccable timing of a New York Times Bestselling Novelist, the events that are transpiring under the umbrella of strained police relations with the citizens took yet another blow.
Eric Garner, Tamar Rice, Michael Brown and countless others who never made the media spotlight were unarmed when killed by the Police.
Worldwide protests were the result as the audacity and arrogance of these officers were put on display for the world to see via video recordings.
This placed law enforcement in the unenviable position of finally having to be held accountable for every action executed during their tour of duty and beyond.
…….but shouldn’t they have been held accountable whether there was a camera present or not?
But as we’ve discovered in the “No Indictment” Eric Garner court decision, justice is a matter of one’s perspective.
That being said, a sick society will render sick results, and those of us who might be bold enough to do the unthinkable are out here in society just like those officers who do the unthinkable while carrying a gun and a badge.
The result in this latest incident resulted in two police officers, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, being killed randomly by Ismaaiyl Brinsley whether or not they were good officers simply doing their jobs.
It’s truly a sad day in our modern society because I suspect that this cycle might not end too soon.
While the arrogance of those bad cops had to be slapped back into reality, those of us who know the unwritten laws of the NYPD understand that the people will pay for those two officers with even more harassment beatings AND killings because the gang in blue must always have the last word!
