There is a growing terrorist group in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti called "400 Mawozo". This group started as a gang under the Administration of Michel Martelly and would execute or kidnap victims at the command of politicians or wealthy Haitian businesses owners.
Technically, you might as well call them gangs for hire or mercenaries for hire.
Nobody is really talking about it but people living in Croix-des-Bouquets. It seems that local news agencies have been gagged about the situation. And it seems the assassination of Jovenel Moise has open the gate of a floud of unimaginable acts of barbarism.
Exactly 3 weeks ago, Lanmo San Jou, the leader of the terrorist group sent a letter to everyone living in the city. In it, there was a request for a mandatory ransom the residents had to pay under the penalty of being shot and executed. Those ransoms went as high as thousands of dollars for banks, schools and gas stations. In the following days from that mandatory request, people would witness victims being executed at point blank in the markets when they could not pay the impossible ransom. How could illiterate farmers, and merchants possibly afford paying thousands of Haitian gourds per week? And in less than one week, all businesses in Croix-des-Bouquets were halted.
But this is where I am calling them terrorists. Lanmo San Jou is using that ransom money to recruit more gang members. Mostly other felons deported from the U.S. for violent crimes. Those men are very well armed with Kalachnikovs and American assault weapons. They have their headquarters in Gedon, Croix-des-Bouquets and are also in possession of pickup trucks with tinted windows. Obviously, someone is funding the guns and the trucks.
In the last 2 weeks, they have been walking at night time door to door to pillage, torture and rape their victims. They would beat the husbands and force them to watch them raping their wives. And it is getting worse and worse. This is the Caribbean ISIS. And if they are recruiting, it is because they obviously plan to expand in all the country and at that point, they will become a threat for the Dominican Republic and the rest of the Caribbean Islands.
Two days ago, they kidnapped women waiting for the local buses around 6am. Those women were dragged in a nearby car wash in Mucho and repeatedly raped by several of those assailants. Even worse, yesterday, a charter bus, belonging to a prestigious traveling company, Capital Coach Line, was hijacked in Malpasse while riding towards the Dominican Republic. There is still no news of those dozens of passengers that were in that bus.
