Most often when we think about fasting we have thoughts of staying away not only from our more favorite foods, but most foods in general.
There are many good reasons why one would choose to abstain from the consumption of food as well as many benefits from partaking in this very healthy practice.
One good reason to keep away from food is that so much of what we eat contains toxic substances inside that are not too good for our overall health.
So staying away from these harmful ingredients by fasting regularly will bring us into a keener sense of well being, a happier state of mind, improved bodily systems which will serve us in a heightened way to be empowered to live a higher quality existence. What a gift for the sacrifice!
Another good benefit of fasting is that by putting our digestive system to rest, we actually gain the ability to focus on tasks that we were previously unable to when our minds were preoccupied with the culinary pleasures of eating.
But let’s face it, it IS very difficult to give up the joys of caloric overload as we have gotten used to it. The urge to eat when hungry, aside from sex and sleep is one of the greatest motivational forces in the world!
We wake up thinking about what calorie laden treat we can clog our systems with, we socialize over food, we seek comfort through food when life’s stresses have us bogged down, food replaces the loneliness of the isolation that is born from a modern day dysfunctional existence.
So its very challenging to impart onto the masses the importance of not indulging in one of their favorite pastimes. Some will look at you as though you have lost your mind for even having the nerve to move your mouth to even bring up such a subject!
Fasting for the benefit of our bodies health is merely just scratching the surface of what the act is truly all about if truth be told.
Our will gets developed as a result of bringing under subjection our desire to eat. By resisting willingly from within knowing that we can full well give into our cravings is much harder than not having the opportunity to cheat at all.
For the sake of space, the intangible qualities that are honed in the process of fasting may be much too vast to list, but needless to say, our spiritual eye “sees” clearer as we cleanse our bodies and mind of frivolous consumptions!
With our new found heightened intuition, we will begin to understand the magnitude of dysfunctions around us and realize that food is not the only things that we need to be fasting from!
There is a reason that our Creator forces us to “earn” our third eye through the diligent pursuit of denial that accompanies fasting, because with it arrives a maturity that will restrain us from “flipping out” when we realize how many fools, vipers and spiritual vampires are truly in our midst!
We need to fast from the FOOLISH PURSUITS and TRIVIAL ENDEAVORS! Better yet, we need to cut out the middle man and cut the junk at the root and not only fast from the FOOLS in our lives but it is also imperative the we RUN FROM these same FOOLS as fast as we can as though our life and salvation depends on it because it DOES!

Another good benefit of fasting from fools is that by putting your nervous system to rest from the lack of drama in your life, you will actually gain the ability to focus on the truly important tasks that we were previously unable to when our minds were preoccupied with the company of the gossipy haters who beget drama.
But let’s face it, it IS very difficult for most to give up the joys of “he said/ she said” as many have gotten used to it as well as dependent on it. The urge to gossip when bored, aside from nosiness and envy is one of the greatest motivational forces in the world for fools and haters! But this is the very dangerous “web” that they hold you in, never allowing you to break the cycle and get away from such a non productive lifestyle without bringing YOU some pain!
So the next time you partake in a fast, please understand that food is not the only indulgence that one has to fast from. What good is a clean body coupled with a dirty mind of a fool? You brag about how good you’ve been on your fast yet have increased the filth coming from your lips, all the while saying: “Praise The Lord” and “God Is Good!”
When you are really honest with yourself you WILL admit that FOOD isn’t the only thing that we need to take a fast from……..
