When Rapper/Entrepreneur 50 Cent challenged the highest paid athlete and Boxing’s pound for pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather to read a random Harry Potter to prove that he is not illiterate, many received it as a classless and tasteless act.
It basically stemmed from the apparent falling out of the friendship between those two but it brought up the every growing issue of illiteracy that no one seems to want to talk about.
While it’s obvious that Floyd “Money” Mayweather has some degree of difficulty with his ability to read, he seems to exemplify the emphasis that many of our youth place on wealth over anything else…….education included!
So I ask the question to all, do you value money over being literate? Would you rather be dumb with countless millions or could you handle being broke while possessing the highest education in the land?
