In recent years, the sport of boxing has become more of a business than ever before. With the multiple platforms of distributing the big – and not so big – fights, the opportunities for making the huge money that at one time was simply unimaginable for most prizefighters are an attainable reality. Unfortunately, this has lead to many fighters becoming reluctant to fight unless the money pot was immense without taking the risk of a potential lose in order to maintain an undefeated record or a winning ratio.
Many top fighters and belt holders, especially in the talent rich welterweight division, appear to be hesitant to make a move to fight each other because no one want to lose their standing in the rankings, taking a loss or missing out on a potentially huge payday. This is why champions Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford are to be commended for their enthusiasm to put their reputations on the line to eventually fight each other. In this case we can respect that this fight needs to be put out there to the mainstream community more so that the participants can get paid what they deserve as we know that what LITTLE time that they take to build it up is not because of a reluctance to both step into the squared circle or a “Prima Donna” mentality.
That being said, WHO do you think will win this classic clash of styles when they do meet and HOW do you think your pick will win? Will it be by knockout, decision, split decision or maybe a draw? I think one of the greatest aspects of the sport of boxing is that it causes strangers and friends alike to passionately debate about the outcome of the fight right up until the moment when the bell rings! Share this post and poll with your contacts and friends and let’s see how it matches up with the eventual results!
