Greetings brother, Lance,
I want to thank you for today’s rooftop perspective. It was truly inspiring. I am an incest survivor both of my parents inflicted their issues onto me emotionally and sexually and living with my grandparents came with is own set of dysfunction , they turned a blind eye to things my uncles were doing in the home of a sexual nature .
My healing journey has been a up and down battle, this road catapulted. me in an abusive relationship, promiscuity, holding on to friendships like security blankets, kept me from knowing my true self or worth. I have had the opportunity to confront my mom, dad, grandmother, two uncles , and an auntie on several occasions face-to-face and with letters for their roles in my hurt. I’ve been to counseling and read the self help books.
I have managed to earn and AA degree, become a homeowner, purchase my dream car, have a nice nest egg saved, raise the children, and marry the man who loves and accepts me. Before your live today I have only had fleeting moments of happiness so this message is to release the shame, the hurt, and the pain. I am new!
