WHY BLACK MEN AREN’T FALLING FOR BARACK OBAMA’S KAMALA HARRIS GUILT TRIP! | LANCESCURV

When Did You Ever Have Our Backs, Barack?

There’s something peculiar about watching Former President Barack Obama suddenly appeal to Black men, calling us out for our “weak” support of Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. Now, hold up a second. Let me get this straight. After years of what felt like near silence on issues directly impacting Black men, Obama is now out here like the Ghost of Elections Past, appearing in Pittsburgh to tell us we need to “get behind” Kamala Harris. Really? After all the dismissive treatment Black men received under his administration and from Harris herself, now we’re supposed to just fall in line?

It’s hilarious. For years, Obama’s message to Black men has been a resounding “tough love” sermon: pull up your pants, stop sagging, and stop blaming the system. I remember that, don’t you? And while we were out here surviving the realities of life that Obama himself never really faced (let’s keep it real, his Black experience is far from the streets most of us grew up on), he was too busy playing nice with other communities—particularly Latinos and the LGBTQ crowd. So, now, when it’s crunch time, he expects us to mobilize for Harris, a woman whose track record with Black men reads like a horror novel. To be honest, Barack Obama is like that womanizing father who abandoned his wife and children only to return decades later, frail and run down expecting to receive the love, adoration and respect that could have been his if he showed some dedication and commitment. In our case, don’t expect us to receive your words unconditionally because you think that we’re too stupid to think for ourselves! Unlike your space cadet buddy Joe Biden, we DO still have our memories and faculties.

Kamala Harris – The Prosecution of Black Men on Full Display

Here’s the kicker. Obama says Black men should support Harris, yet he forgets (or conveniently ignores) the fact that Harris made a name for herself by prosecuting and incarcerating Black men in California. This is the same woman who wielded her power like a sledgehammer against our brothers, but we’re supposed to back her now? Nah, fam. Obama speaks as if we’ve forgotten her role in perpetuating the very system that targets us. It’s wild. He says he’s going to “speak some truths” to us. Well, Barack, here’s the truth: we see through the façade.

Let’s be clear. Black men don’t have an issue with Harris because she’s a woman. It’s because of her history and the way she’s treated Black men in the past. You can’t plant thorns in a community and expect roses to grow. Her record speaks for itself.

The Energy Ain’t There – And There’s a Reason For That

Obama’s out here talking about how we’re not giving Harris the same energy he had when he ran for president. Well, of course, we’re not. It’s not the same thing. Back in 2008, when Obama was running, we didn’t know he’d spend the next eight years bending over backwards for every group but us. We didn’t know that after all the pictures of him between Malcolm and Martin, we’d get speeches about personal responsibility and silence on systemic injustice. Now, with Harris, we already know the score. She hasn’t put in the work to earn our support, and no amount of “speak some truths” rhetoric from Obama is going to change that.

Obama seems surprised that the brothers aren’t fired up for Harris. Well, here’s a lesson for you, Barack: you can’t withdraw from a bank account you never made deposits into. Harris has done nothing to establish a relationship with Black men, so why would we support her?

Who Grew Up Like Us, Barack? Not Kamala!

Now, this part really got me. Obama had the audacity to say Harris “grew up like you,” implying she shares the experiences of Black men. Stop the madness. Kamala Harris grew up in a wealthy household with connections to Indian and Irish slaveholders. That’s not growing up like us. Black men in America grew up with real struggles, systemic oppression, and institutional racism that Harris benefited from, not fought against. The idea that she understands the pain and joy of our experiences is laughable.

Let’s not even start on the whole “is she Black” debate. She’s shown time and time again that her Blackness is a convenient costume she wears when it’s politically advantageous. And now, Obama wants us to believe she’s one of us? Nah, man, you’re not fooling anyone.

The Real Connection Black Men See – Trump vs. Harris

And while Obama is out here trying to shame Black men for considering Trump, let’s address the elephant in the room. Trump, for all his flaws, actually has a record of engaging with the Black community in ways Harris never has. Whether it’s through his business dealings or his support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Trump has made moves that resonate with Black men. Now, don’t get it twisted—I’m not saying Trump is some savior, but he’s at least shown a willingness to engage.

On the other hand, Harris has shown nothing but a disconnect. Obama wants us to believe that Kamala Harris is “focused on policy that will benefit Black communities,” but where’s the evidence of that? The bottom line is that Black men aren’t buying what they’re selling. We’re not falling for the same old song and dance.

The Final Word – We Ain’t Buying It

So, Barack, while you’re out here trying to guilt-trip Black men into supporting Kamala Harris, let me give you a piece of advice: you can’t build a bridge to nowhere. Harris hasn’t built any trust with us, and no amount of campaigning is going to change that. You want to talk about women “having our backs”? Sure, we’ve had women in our lives who’ve supported us, but Kamala Harris isn’t one of them. And you know it.

If you want our support, come correct. Address the real issues Black men face and stop trying to gaslight us into supporting a candidate who has never shown she cares about us. Until then, Barack, we’re good.
